    Before downloading

    A few words at the beginning:

    There are several versions of the Harvest software available on the web.

    Some of the newer versions are reencodings of parts of the software, which mostly contain more bugs then the older versions and often mis substantial properties (all versions later then 1.6 do not have the broker-broker-networking possibility). We strongly recomment the usage of version 1.5.20 of the Harvest-Indexer software.

    Several location for the download are given on the "* SourceForge-Server".

    We also offer a local copy of the package: harvest-1.5.20.tar

    You will further need:

    • The latest version of glimpse
      After registrating you can download this software from the Webglimpse Server.

    • Several scripts, which controll the scheduling of all the processes.

    • Download the Harvest 1.4pl2 Manual and print it out. This manual is in fact out of date, but the latest one written.
